Pienza is one of the most charming towns in Tuscany where to get married, a peaceful and quite village from which you can admire breathtaking vistas of the Val D'Orcia valleys. Ideal location if you are looking for an intimate wedding.
Pienza is a rare example of Renaissance town building. Defined from time to time, the "ideal city", the "utopian city", it represents one of the best planned Renaissance towns, where a model of ideal living and government was realized thus working out the idea of a town able to satisfy the need of a pacific, civil and hardworking living. The center of Pienza was completely redesigned by Pope Pius II in Renaissance times. He planned to transform his birthplace into a model Renaissance town. The architect Bernardo Rossellino was commissioned to build a Duomo, papal palace and town hall, the construction were completed in three years.

Pienza is located in the middle of Val d'Orcia, a wonderful untouched valley, 2 hours from Florence and only 1 hour from southeast of Siena


Civil weddings ceremonies

Civil weddings ceremonies are performed in the local Palazzo Comunale, a 14th century building in Renaissance style located in the historical Piazza of Pienza. The interior of the marriage hall is very impressive, in Gothic style furniture with historical heraldic devices and a beautiful frescoes of the Senese school.
Weddings are performed by the Mayor of Town or Civil registrar. You can add personal vows, readings and poems to the ceremony. Possibility to perform weddings from Monday until Saturday.
